Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki (pronounced ray-key) is a Japanese relaxation technique addressing mind, body, and spirit. "Rei", loosely translated, means guided by spiritual consciousness, and "Ki" means life energy. Reiki can be thought of as spiritually guided life energy, using the energy frequencies of unconditional love and compassion. Karuna is a Sanskrit word that translates to "compassionate action". It is commonly recognized that relaxation allows the body's natural healing to take place.

My Usui / Holy Fire Master level training is through Jelan Petersen, through the International Center for Reiki Training (IRCT). I received the Holy Fire II upgrade and Holy Fire II Karuna Reiki® Master training from William Lee Rand, and the Holy Fire III upgrade webinar, also from William Lee Rand.  Clients tell me that the effects of my Reiki sessions are much stronger, now that I bring Ascension into the sessions.

What is a Reiki session like?

In-person ~ the client lies comfortably, fully clothed, on a massage-like table while the practitioner places hands on or near the body.  This can also be done in a hospital bed, recliner, or chair. There is some discussion at the beginning of the session, but, generally, most of the session is quiet or with gentle music playing.

Remote ~ the client can be wherever they desire, preferably in a relaxing environment so they notice more of the relaxation and healing from the reiki. This means no travel to and from the appointment, no waiting in the lobby, and no distractions from the practitioner's movements! There is some discussion on the phone at the beginning of the session.

Clients experience deep relaxation and peacefulness, some of which will persist long after the session. Many clients fall asleep. Deep relaxation allows the body's natural healing to take place. Since much healing and releasing takes place, it is recommended to allow space for yourself to be gentle and relaxed after a session.
